Plagiarism Policy

The International Journal of Intelligent Computing and Engineering Sciences (IJICES) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity, originality, and ethical research practice. The journal considers plagiarism, in all its forms, to be a serious violation of scholarly ethics. Authors are required to ensure that all submitted manuscripts represent original work and that appropriate acknowledgment and citation are provided for the ideas, words, data, methods, figures, tables, and other materials obtained from previously published or unpublished sources.

All manuscripts submitted to IJICES may be subjected to plagiarism and similarity screening using appropriate plagiarism-detection software before or during the editorial and peer-review process. The purpose of this screening is to identify substantial textual overlap, unattributed use of previously published material, duplicate publication, self-plagiarism, and other forms of inappropriate reuse. A similarity report is considered as one part of the editorial assessment and does not, by itself, determine whether a manuscript constitutes plagiarism. The editors may examine the nature, extent, source, and context of any identified similarity before making an editorial decision.

Authors must properly cite and reference all sources used in their manuscripts. Direct quotations must be clearly identified and appropriately referenced, while substantial use of previously published text, figures, tables, datasets, or other copyrighted materials must be accompanied by the necessary permissions where applicable. Authors should also avoid excessive self-reuse of text or content from their previous publications without appropriate citation and disclosure. Submitting substantially similar work to more than one journal at the same time is not permitted.

If plagiarism or significant inappropriate text reuse is identified before publication, IJICES may request clarification or revision, reject the manuscript, or take other appropriate editorial action depending on the seriousness of the matter. If plagiarism is discovered after publication, the journal may investigate the case and, where necessary, issue a correction, editorial notice, expression of concern, or retraction in accordance with established publication-ethics principles.

The journal also considers plagiarism to include the unauthorized presentation of another person's ideas, concepts, methodologies, results, or intellectual contributions as one's own, even when the wording has been substantially modified. Authors are therefore responsible for ensuring that their manuscripts accurately acknowledge the intellectual contributions of other researchers and that all sources are cited appropriately.

Authors should ensure that their submissions have not been previously published and are not simultaneously under consideration by another journal. This requirement is consistent with the journal's submission guidelines, which require authors to confirm that submitted work is original and has not been previously published or submitted elsewhere.

By submitting a manuscript to IJICES, authors confirm that the work is original, appropriately referenced, and compliant with the journal's academic and ethical standards. The editorial team reserves the right to investigate suspected plagiarism or other forms of academic misconduct and to take appropriate action to protect the integrity of the scholarly record.
